My Tims ancestors also known to come from SC- Choctaw AL in 1850's - Smith, Co, MS in 1860 to 1880's - then to Texas in 1900's. Their Tims, Timms, Times or Timbs names were: John, Amos, John M., Benjamin, Joseph, Timothy T., Alford, etc. Do any of these names tally with your Tims family? My grandfather Alford Tims changed his name in 1900 to Thames, but his DNA is from the Tims family.
