 | Thames - Six of the twelve children of Rev. Jesse and Mary A. E. (Broughton) Thames Original commentary for this photo: The sons are, left to right, Charles, Nathaniel, and Cornelius. The sisters, unordered, are Susan, Lucy, and Nancy.
Note by Becky Thames-Simmons: If I had to guess, I would say that all the children are ordered from youngest to oldest, because the male children are seated in that order. If that is, in fact, the case, then the daughters left to right are Lucy, Nancy, and Susan. Sons and daughters deceased by the time this photo was taken were, youngest to oldest, Margaret, Jesse, Martha, Sarah, Steven. One daughter not pictured and as yet unaccounted for is Mary Jane born about 1829 (the eldest child). |
