The Stephens-Thames Bible

 (in possession of Elsie DAVID, Clio, South Carolina)

The writing in the family record of the STEPHENS-THAMES Bible has

deteriorated over the years and the writer (of Bennettsville, South

Carolina) has attempted to reconstruct names and dates where necessary.  

The STEPHENS name was spelled in the records with a "V" and with a "PH".  

It was in the possession of W. D. Stephens (1807-1886) and his wife:

Martha Ann THAMES (1831-1914) when they moved from Cumberland Co., N.C.,

to Marlboro Co., S.C. in 1884.  The title page and the first ten chapters

of the Book of Genesis are missing.

10, 1803. [He] departed this life August 30, 1860.

Martha Ann THAMES, the daughter of the above and Sarah his wife, was born

July 19, 1831.

Alexander and Martha Bowman Timms records.  They were first in North Carolina

and later lived in Murray County, GA.  Both William A and Elizabeth Timms are

buried in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Resaca, GA.  Gordon Co, GA.  

William A. was the son of Thomas Timms."
